DANCE

1998| Pietrasanta marble statue

h cm 110

The marble statue imparts in this umpteenth version of the dance a more decisive shape, cleaner cuts, permitting the archetype to develop a more energetic dynamism and to define itself in the solidity of the material. The crescent-shaped arms, like wings, impart on the dancers (conceived from the start in the mind of the artist as a couple) an upward impulse, in the compliment of male and female and in their mutating symmetry.
